PurePro allows employers to add and manage statutory payment for employees who are unable to work due to neonatal care. Statutory Neonatal Care Pay (SNCP) is paid for PAYE workers only who meet requirement criteria.
Adding Statuary Neonatal Care Pay
To add Statutory Neonatal Care Pay, please follow these steps: -
Navigate to Payroll → Payments
Click on "Create New"
Select a worker
Select "Statutory Neonatal Care Pay" under "Rate"
Add relevant details, as required
Click on "Save"

Adding SNCP Days
Statutory Neonatal care Pay (SNCP) is paid for 12 weeks maximum, after which any other dates are considered as unpaid leave days.
SNCP is processed is processed in batches of 7 days (1 week), this includes the start and end date. E.g. SNCP with Start Date - 01/05/2025 and End Date - 12/05/2025, will be processed in 2 batches as Batch 1 - 01/05/2025 - 06/05/2025 & Batch 2 - 07/05/2025 - 12/05/2025.
To add SNCP days, follow these steps: -
When Adding Statutory Neonatal Care Pay
Users can select the start and end date of the payment
Please ensure, these dates are can be broken down in the blocks of 7 days

If End date is left blank, system will automatically, calculate an end date as 7 days based on the start date.
Users have the option to add additional SNCP days, after creating the Statutory Neonatal Care Pay. To ad additional SNCP days, please follow these steps: -
Navigate to Payroll → Payments
Edit the required Statutory Neonatal Care Pay by clicking on the "Edit" button under action
Click on "Add NEONATAL Day"
Add the additional Start and End dates as required. (In the blocks of 7 days)
Click on "Save" to add the additional neonatal days.
The SNCP days can be provided in 1 go as long as the whole duration of Neonatal care pay can be broken down into 7 whole days.

The "Transactions" view shows a breakdown of SSP paid per week. Users can also access the payslip from this view.
As required by the law, workers earning below Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) are not eligible for Statutory Payments; However, payroll managers can override these requirements to process a payment where an employee's pay falls under LEL limit.
To override LEL requirements, follow these steps:
Navigate to Payroll → Payments
Click on "Create New"
Select a worker
Select a "Statutory Payment" under "Rate" as required
Add relevant details, as required
Enable "Override LEL Validations"
Add "Weekly Earnings Amount" to be used for overriding validation
Click "Save"

When processing Statutory Neonatal Care Pay for a worker, PurePro application, automatically processes an absence for the worker against the related period.
